"Iron Curtain" to play The Village Theater in Seattle, WA March 16 - May 22, 2011

Thrilled that "Iron Curtain" after many years of development, workshops, productions here and there, is finally going to get the "Red Carpet" treatment at the glorious Village Theater. They did the show at their Festival of New Musicals, then a great workshop, and now a full production. They do such incredible productions. Here's hoping for a commercial option of the piece.

Four years ago, we wrote the show in around 3 weeks while I nursed a broken ankle. Pete would come down and we literally wrote like the wind since we had a production pending at The Prospect Theater Company and had to get it done. It did really well, won the New York Innovative Theater Award for Best New Off-Off Broadway Musical and got a very nice nod from the New York Times and lots of critics.

After some further development up at The O'Neill Theater Conference with the amazing Paulette Haupt & company, we really tightened the show up there and got it as trim as we could and even funnier. Audiences up there ate it up by our last staged reading of it.

I cannot wait to see what Robb Hunt and Steve Tompkins do with the show!
